Albor Hotel

The hotel complex is situated between the man-made and natural environments. It is situated on a gentle terrain near the village of Vourvoulos in Santorini, surrounded by traditional "pezoules", large areas of cultivated land with stone walls along the altitude. The design approach seeks to create an architectural form that is created by the interplay between contradictory and complementary elements that reference the specific context and wider location. The organic shapes of the black volcanic stone follow curved contours, creating a landscape that reflects the shape of the terrain. Occasionally, off-white prisms of a similar color to "asp" (volcanic ash from Santorini) appear.
